Obituary for Billy Don "Pa-Pa" Carter

Billy Don Carter, of Stratford, Oklahoma was born August 31. 1936 in Stratford to William Charles and Lou Ella (Cosby) Carter. He passed away December 15, 2021 at his home in Stratford with his family by his side at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 14 days. Billy Don grew up in Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School. He and Karlene Davis were married on February 4, 1956 in Stratford where they made their home and raised their three children, Barbara, Donny and Gary. He worked at Kerr McGee Refinery until retirement in 1995. He loved to play his guitar, sing, play basketball, go camping, and work on his vintage cars. He went to Bible Study each week and loved reading his Bible. He loved his friends, his community, and most of all, his family.

Preceded by; parents, William Charles (Mann) and Lou Ella Carter, his wife; Karlene, daughter; Barbara Chambless, son; Gary Lee Carter, brothers; L.T., Hoot, and LeRoy Carter; sisters; Mary Jo Thompson, Claudia Patchell and Lorene Personette.

Survived by; son; Donny Carter & wife Linda of Stratford, Oklahoma 8 grandchildren; Suzann Cummins & husband Vic of Edmond, OK.
